Tribute To A Best Friend
Sunlight streams through window paneonto a spot on the floor...then I remember,it's where you used to lie,but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpetand muted echoes sound....then I remember,It's where your paws would joyously abound
A voice is heard along the road, and up beyond the hillthen I remember it can't be yours....your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floorand empty muted halland lay them with the absent voiceand unused dish along the wall
I'll wrap these treasured memorialsin a blanket of my loveand keep them for my best frienduntil we meet above.

Here's a poem, verse about your pet dog
Dog needing to be put to sleep
If it should be that I grow frail and weakAnd pain should keep me from my sleep,Then will you do what must be done,For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,But don't let grief then stay your hand,For on this day, more than the rest,Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,You wouldn't want me to suffer so.When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me where, to my needs they'll tend,Only, stay with me till the endAnd hold me firm and speak to meUntil my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agreeIt is a kindness you do to me.Although my tail its last has waved,From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be youWho has to decide this thing to do;We've been so close -- we two -- these years,Don't let your heart hold any tears.

A Tribute to your pet dog
When God had made the earth and skythe flowers and the trees,He then made all the animalsthe fish, the birds and bees.
And when at last He'd finishednot one was quite the same.He said, "I'll walk this world of mineand give each one a name."
And so He traveled far and wideand everywhere He went,a little creature followed Himuntil it's strength was spent.
When all were named upon the earthand in the sky and sea,the little creature said,"Dear Lord, there's not one left for me."
Kindly the Father said to him"I've left you to the endI've turned my own name back to frontand called you dog, My friend."

A poem, verses about the loss of your dog
I lost a treasured friend todayThe little dog who used to layHer gentle head upon my kneeAnd share her silent thoughts with me.
She'll come no longer to my call,Retrieve no more her favorite ballA voice far greater than my ownHas called her to His golden throne.
And though my eyes are filled with tears,I thank Him for the happy yearsHe let her spend down here with me,And for her love and loyalty.

For a pet cat or dog
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

The loss of a pet cat
Weep not for me though I am gone into that gentle night.Grieve if you will, but not for long upon my soul's sweet flight.I am at peace, my soul's at restThere is no need for tears. For with your love I was so blessed. For all those many years. There is no pain, I suffer not,The fear now all is gone.Put now these things out of your thoughts,In your memory I live on.Remember not my fight for breathRemember not the strife. Please do not dwell upon my death,But celebrate my life.

A Little Dog Angel
High up in the courts of Heaven todayA little dog-angel waits,With the other dogs he will not play,But he sits alone at the Gates:"For I know my master will come," says he"And when he comes, he will call for me."
He sees the spirits that pass him byAs they hasten towards the throne,And he watches them with a wistful eyeAs he sits at the gate alone;"But I know if I just wait patiently"That someday my Master will come," says he.
And his Master far down on the earth below,As he sits in his easy chairForgets sometimes, and he whistles lowFor the dog that is not there; And the little dog-angel cocks his earsAnd dreams that his Master's call he hears.
And I know when at length his Master waitsOutside in the dark and coldFor the hand of Death to open the gatesThat lead to the Courts of Gold,The little dog-angel's eager barkWill comfort his soul while he's still in the dark.

Loss of a pet cat or dog
I just wanted to let you know that I made it home. The journey wasn't an easy one, but it didn't take too long.
Everything is so pretty here, so white, so fresh and newI wish that you could close your eyes and that you could see it too.
Please try not to be sad for me.Try to understand God is taking care of me...I'm in the shelter of His hands.
Here there is no sadness, no sorrow, and no pain. Here there is no crying and I'll never hurt again.
Here it is so peaceful when all the angels sing.I really have to go for now... I've just got to try my wings.

Pet Loss PoemsPet Loss Poems
They come into our lives for such a short time-a time we wouldn't trade not even for a dime.
Then before you know it the years have flown byand then all of a sudden we're saying good-bye.
It wasn't that long ago we said our good-byes.We held on to you tight as you closed your eyes.
Your spirit has flown home on the wings of a doveinto God's loving arms; in heaven above.
Over the days we've shed many tearsbut the memories we have will live on for years.
We feel your presence and we know that you are nearYou're keeping us safe and calming our fears.
We think about memories from years pastwhen you were young and strong and ran so fast.
We remember all the great times that we all had.How you always made us happy never made us mad.
They were the best and happiest years we had. We'll always look back on them and never be sad.
We look forward to the time we'll be together againand we thank the Lord for such a great friend
Now you run and play up in Heaven abovecradled in God's arms covered with his love.
Playing by the Bridge waiting for the daywe come down through the meadow to the bridge to stay.
The love that you showed us we'll never forgetbecause to us you're one very special pet.
You're like a star in the dark of nightalways watching over us with the Lord's light.
So now we take time to remember our best friendwho will always be with us even to the end.
We'll always remember you the way you were-one big lovable, huggable pile of fur.
