Memorial Poems
While (he)(she) lies in peaceful sleep(His)(Her) memory we shall always keep.
**
In my heart your memory lingers,Always tender, fond & true; There’s not a day, dear (mother),I do not think of you.
**
We are sad within our memory,Lonely are our hearts today,For the one we loved so dearlyHas forever been called away.We think of (him)(her) in silence,No eye may see us weep,But many silent tears are shedWhen others are asleep.
***
His memory is as dear today,As in the hour he passed away.
**
The blow was great, the shock severe,We little thought his death so near,Only those that have lost can tellThe sorrow of parting without farewell.
**
We often think of days gone byWhen we were all together.A shadow o’er our lives is cast,Our loved one gone forever.
**
And have you gone, forever goneAnd left us here to weepTill we are called to follow you,And in the grave to sleep.
Yet since you could no longer stayTo cheer us with your love,We hope to meet you again inThe bright world above.
**
He had a nature you could not help loving,And a heart that was purer than gold,And to those who knew him and loved himHis memory will never grow cold.
**
The depths of sorrow we cannot tell,Of the loss of one we loved so well; And while she sleeps a peaceful sleep,Her memory we shall always keep.
