Bereavement Poems

**

Sadness is overwhelming at this point in time
The weather that day was treacherous
I can't bear it that he's gone at only 39
For no other reason would he have left us.

When someone called he always helped
No matter what the day or time
He's probably helping God right now
He was an angel but not yours - mine.

I wasn't ready to let him go
and this pain is just to great
So look after him and keep him safe
As he's going to have to wait

I'll be a while because of the kids
he loved them so and they too him
He'd hate to hear them crying
They're singing now,it’s his favourite hymn

Pick yourselves up he'd say
and get on with your lives
But we'll miss you so much every day
I'm here, and I'll never leave you
so just kneel down and pray.

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.

**

Play, smile, think of me, pray for me,
Let my name be ever the household word that
It always was.

The Life that I Have

The life that I have
Is all that I have
And the life that I have
Is yours

The love that I have
Of the life that I have
Is yours and yours and yours

A sleep that I shall have
A Rest I shall have
Yet death will be but a pause
For the peace of my years
In the long green grass
Will be yours and yours and yours

Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow
May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow

When you are lonely, and sick of heart,
Go to friends we know,
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds,
Miss me - but let me go.
